We received a warm welcome at the Leeds Metropolitan University ‘Staff Development Day’ where we sang a very enjoyable gay set to a fun audience who were clearly invited to represent diversity in Leeds. We think ‘Culture and Diversity’ were the theme of the day and certainly the other acts also fitted that theme, but where were all the white middle-class non-disabled straight staff and their families to experience this rich event?
On a very wet day, we performed as part of the BBC’s Last Choir Standing workshop in Hull. Despite the downpours, there was a fair sized audience.
We were proud to open proceedings for the third Leeds Pride with a set of three songs on the stage in Millennium Square. We’re not entirely sure anybody heard us – since we never got to sound check – but we thought we sounded pretty good!
For our tenth anniversary concert, we launched our most ambitious programme to date, with 21 songs taken from the last decade to celebrate our birthday.
